Distribution Research #2 - Scary Movie 5


This film follows in the same sort of genre of horror comedy as the film we are going for, but it had a larger release than "What We Do In The Shadows". In fact, it grossed $78 million and didn't have to find its way into american theaters it was already there. It helps that it was only the second movie distributed by Dimension Films which at the time of the release it was a subsidiary of the Weinstein Company, a large distributor. The DVD was released later on DVD and Blu-ray later in August. The movie is now Available to view for rent on Vudu, iTunes, and Amazon Prime.

Revision #3

This is more of a technical revision based off of the major cuts to the film but the music had to be reworked. Due to the shorter run time we edited the music in two ways: began it post beginning of the song that way the words "Man-eater" during the time we needed the music for. We made it so the music ends at the title screen so its cleaner.

Critical Creative Reflection #4

The tech we used for filming was an iPhone 6S so there was no stunning graphics for the playback for the video but it was serviceable for what we wanted from the film. The Film was then edited on iMovie and there it underwent cuts, playback speed changes and the addition of a song.
