My Target Audience

As we begin to shift the film toward the marketing aspect of film production it is important to consider target audience. Ideally, a film should want to attract all manners of people to the box office to have dollars flowing in from everywhere, but of course this is idealistic not realistic. Our film is marketed to youth, like those that are still in secondary school or high school. This is sort of typical of the genre and subject as the comedy doesn't have innuendos or adult themes. There is one aspect of the film which is missing from the appeal to this age group, and that is a romance. There is none of that in the film and that could be bad as it is such a staple of really all movies geared toward youth. We hope this will be a much wanted refreshing feature of the film. Secondly, I believe given the location of where the film was shot there should be some draw of people to see the beautiful sights Sarasota has to offer simply due to escapism.

Revisions

After my film was viewed by my peers to give us feedback, it became very apparent there was a massive oversight by our group. We had an outside party use a camera and get our footage. This is a problem that has to be number on our list of things to do in order to better our film as this could be grounds for it being ungraded. Thankfully the only part that was filmed by an outsider was the segment where my partner and I were on screen together. I foresee this being an easy fix. I am very thankful for the peer review as this could have been disastrous.     Secondly, The editing has to be smoother or the acting requiring better performances. We had lots of mistakes in forgetting lines or not liking how something was said so we had a lot of clips to cut to together I feel as this lead to an overwhelming sense of of being thrown in a washing machine and our peers agreed. My hope is that since the anxieties of editing a project as big as thing one or acting are out and we both have expe

Use of Conventions

The film we made challenges a lot of conventions present with the presentation of your typical Hollywood Vampire. Svetlana, our vampire, demonstrates the usual vampire ills as she avoids an Italian restaurant and liberally applies sunscreen as the sun goes down. The Italian restaurant is sure to have garlic, a Hollywood vampire repellent. The aversion to the sun is self-explanatory. However, the film challenges the appearances of vampires with Svetlana. She is blonde and tan which differs from the snow pale skin and jet black hair from Hollywood. The biggest convention change is how Svetlana is afraid of blood and so much so that she faints which entirely breaks convention of a vampire.
